Superhero Origins: DJ Jon Quick - Turntable Superhero

Ok. I'm home sick but bored so I decided to follow some of my dj brethren and create a blog. I hope you enjoy it and please feel free to spread the love via forwarding my link. I decided for my first blog to explain the whole method to my superhero madness.

Everyone is always asking me "where da hell did you come up with the whole superhero dj theme?". I grew up on comics and I if anyone didn't notice, a lot of the great rappers started using superhero references in terms of their alter egos.
I definitely feel like I have an alter ego when I step in the booth so it was very natural and probably inevitable thing for me.

At first I was calling myself "Mr. Fantastic" back in the mid 90s. Always been a big fan of the Fantastic Four so this sounded kinda fly to me and felt right. But as time went on, I began to feel like my mood and affect really should determine what direction I should run with this. Hell, somedays I felt more like the "Human Torch"(because I left the booth smokin' after a set! lol) or even Superman(lifting all that heavy equipment by myself most of the time).
At that point I decided to just call myself "The Turntable Superhero", which basically gives me the option to be any superhero I want to be for the evening, depending on my mood. Alot of people call me "Superman", since I have a variety of "Superman tees". The "S" on my chest in this case just stands for "Superhero". Just wanted to make that clear.

People seem to really like this whole concept. I was recently named "official Marvel Comics Superhero DJ". They just need to decide what they want to do with me. All of my followers seems to have funny and poignant comments in reference to the whole superhero theme.
I have a good time with it (have you heard my theme intro at the clubs yet?) and it seems to have "legs". Lets just see how much notoriety I gain with the "S" on my chest.

One love at least,
